Rogers Lumber Company
was started by W.D. Rogers (now deceased) in Arkansas in 1947. He had two sons, Jerry and Johnny (now deceased) who
helped him run the business. Around 1963, they moved the business, family, employees and all to Sour Lake, Texas. This was
a short stay however, and they moved again around 1965 to our current location in Orange, Texas. The business went well located
in the heart of the big Southeast Texas timber. They often did business with the heralded Lutcher-Moore lumber company that
was an integral part in the development of Orange into the boomtown it became. Rogers Lumber also had to deal with a devastating
fire in 1968. Credit Jerry along with his brother-in-law Grady Pesnell (now deceased) for rebuilding the mill literally from
the ground up almost single handedly. Four decades later, we are still in the same place, doing the same thing that we always
have. The faces and names have changed over the years, but we are still the same dependable company that we always have been.
All in all, Southeast Texas has been good to Rogers Lumber Company, as we are doing more business now than we ever had in
the past.

This is the picture of the 5 generations of Rogers men, when it was still intact. Poppy, Jerry, Vince, Jeff, and Levi. W.D. Rogers: Poppy, as everyone who really new him called him, died on
January 23, 2006. He was 90 years old. W.D. Rogers was greatly respected, as all of us know that this company would not be
here if not for his blood, sweat, and tears.
